BIOGRAPHY

In addition to being a passionate pedagogue, Chandler Fadero is an active solo, orchestral, chamber, and baroque violinist. 

Violinist Chandler Fadero is currently a violinist with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and violin instructor in Oklahoma. He completed his Doctor of Music Degree in Violin Performance in 2023 as the acting Mark Allen Everett Fellow of String Performance at the University of Oklahoma School of Music. Prior to his studies in Oklahoma, he completed his Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance at the Hayes School of Music, and his Master of Music Degree in Violin Performance at Baylor University. His principal mentors have been Ernest Pereira, Nancy Bargerstock, Bruce Berg, and Gregory Lee. Fadero has also participated in masterclasses with distinguished artists and pedagogues such as Kevork Mardirossian, Elisabeth Field, Andrew Jennings, Alexander Kerr, and Rachel Barton Pine.

In recent years, Fadero held concertmaster positions with his academic symphonies, the University of Oklahoma Symphony Orchestra, Baylor Symphony Orchestra and the Appalachian Symphony Orchestra. In 2021, he served as Concertmaster of the Sewanee Summer Music Festival Symphony Orchestra.

His professional appointments include Section Violin of Western Piedmont Symphony Orchestra, Symphony of the Mountains, Waco Symphony Orchestra, and Oklahoma City Philharmonic. Leadership roles in professional orchestras include Principal Second Violin of the Temple Symphony Orchestra, and Co-Principal Second Violin of the Norman Philharmonic.

Concerto performances include appearaces with the Cannon Symphony Orchestra, the Baylor Symphony Orchestra, and the Sewanne Summer Music Festival Symphony Orchestra.

A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Fadero began his musical studies at the age of nine. He performs in a wide variety of styles, including (but not limited to) pop, rock, folk, baroque, classical, and contemporary; in venues ranging from outdoor theaters to major concert halls. In recent years, Fadero has performed weekly with the Irish Music Ensemble the House Session based out of Edmond, Oklahoma.

As a firm believer in chamber music, Fadero's involvement in the chamber music scene is particularly prolific. As one of the founders of the Glass Quartet, an ensemble dedicated to concertizing modern and minimalist works for String Quartet, Fadero oversaw and managed tours with repertoire from composers such as Philip Glass, John Adams, and Steve Reich. In addition, during his Master's studies, Fadero was appointed a position with the Baylor Graduate String Quartet, which focused primarily on performance of 20th century repertoire. Fadero is a founding member of The Nü Quartet, a chamber ensemble based out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma which performs modern works focusing on local composers.

 

Fadero regularly performs in early music ensembles, in positions as conductor, concertmaster, and soloist. He served as Concertmaster of the Collegium Musicum of the Hayes School of Music, the Early Music Ensemble of Baylor University, and the Collegium Musicum of the University of Oklahoma. Additionally, Fadero performed with the professional baroque ensemble Harmonia Baroque of North Carolina.

Fadero's passion for performing, studying, and teaching the music of Johann Sebastian Bach culminated in his Doctoral Dissertation on the Sonatas and Partitas by Bach. 

​

At the age of twenty, Fadero made his professional debut as a conductor with the Symphony of the Mountains of Kingsport, Tennessee. In addition, he has regularly guest-conducted the Appalachian Symphony Orchestra. Fadero's conducting mentors include Cornelia Laemmli-Orth, Chung Park, and Stephen Heyde. He is presently the Director of Orchestras at Northwest Classen High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

As a pedagogue, Fadero strongly advocates for the investment in music education. He is an active member of the American String Teacher's Association, and participates in their national conference yearly, while regularly attending other workshops held by the national association. Fadero maintains a diverse private studio consisting of students of all levels studying a variety of styles, ranging from classical to contemporary.

In his free time, Fadero enjoys cooking, smoking meats, playing chess, running, pursuing physical fitness and various outdoor activities, and studying the French language.
